Step 1 of PC onboarding.
- Open your browser
- Go to the gajumining.com website
- Click on the 'Downloads' tab at the top.
- Click on the "Wallet and Miner" option for your operating system
- Click on the install button once it finishes downloading
- Click next, then click next, then click install.
- Click finish.
Step 2 of PC onboarding
- Close both GajuMine windows. (Closing one may cause the other to close automatically, which is fine.)
- Open GajuDesk.
- Click 'save' in the window that appears to create a new wallet in the default location.
- Enter "My Wallet" as the name of your wallet. Make sure the network is set to "mainnet".
- Type in a passphrase , then just under that, confirm passphrase! Make sure it is something you can remember!
- Press 'okay'. If the buttons are too small to read, 'okay' is the button on the bottom left.
- If you already created a key in the past, skip to Recover.
- Press 'create' to create a new key.
- Enter "My Mining Key" as the name, or similar.
- Leave the seed as is, and press ok.
Step 3 PC onboarding, continued from above
- Press mnemonic.
- A recovery phrase will appear on the screen. THIS IS YOUR KEY. Write it down on a piece of paper, and optionally also copy it to a file you can access on your computer. If you write it down wrong, or lose it, you may lose your gajus forever.
- Press close once your recovery phrase is somewhere safe. we recommend a fire box or similar with a key or a combination to open
Step 4 PC onboarding
- Go to your welcome email that you received when you purchased the mining package
- Press the link in the email (or the download button,) even if you have pressed these links before. This will open the gaju mining web page
- Click on log in on the upper right hand corner of the page
- Click on the 'copy to clipboard' button next to the URL. The button will turn yellow when your mouse is over it.
- Minimise the browser - do not close it.
- Go back to GajuDesk, select the key you want to register for mining, (if you have registered a key in the past, you should use that one again)
- Once the key is selected, left click on the "GRIDS URL" button
- Paste the URL you copied into the "GRIDS URL" text box. (Right click on the space between the "Ok" button and the words "GRIDS URL", left click on 'paste')
- Press "Ok". The GRIDS URL window will disappear. Wait a moment for a new window to pop up.
- Press "Ok" in the new window that pops up. This will permanently associate your mining package with this key.
- Maximize the browser, and check if you are logged in. In the top right corner it should say something starting with 'ak_', and should not say 'login'. This is your account ID, which means you have now logged in with that key.
Step 5 PC onboarding
- Press that text where your public key is written, this should be where it said log in before, to open your account page.
- You can now close your browser. Open GajuMine, and leave GajuDesk open as well. You should now have three windows on your screen.
- In GajuDesk, select your key, (make sure it is the one you just registered your packages with,)
- press "Copy" to the right of the gray area where your "Account ID" is written
- Find the window called "Configure GajuMine", and right click on the white space below where it says "GajuMining Account ID"
- click paste, to paste your account ID in the textbox. It should be a long string of letters and numbers.
- In the box next to "Max Cores", left click on the white space, and enter half of whatever your "HW Cores" number is.
- Next to "Max Memory", left click on the white space, and enter 75% of whatever number is next to "Memory (GB)"
- Make sure "Mainnet" is selected and Press Ok.
- Find the GajuMine window, maximize it so it occupies the whole screen.
- Press start. And you should be up and running
Various messages should appear in the text box, with the numbers you entered into the configure window. Then, three kinds of messages should start appearing in the text box:
- "Trying Nonce 114894983739487893"
- "Found! Reporting 1 cycles to leader."
- "Solution Accepted! You solved one! Sequence: 126105"
Any messages with the word 'error' in them indicate an error. There will be an error log sheet with next steps coming out soon if you see any
